Summer Fun 2012

This summer our family has had the opportunity to live in Lexington, Kentucky! I get to be a stay at home mom for the summer and spend all day and night with Kason and Rixen!!! I love every minute of it! I'm not saying it is easy by any means but I would not trade it for the world. The good times out way the bad few minutes by ten ton, I love it so much!
Kayleb is installing security systems for a company called Vivint and he loves it! He is doing an amazing job and is the top 1st year tech in our office and has the most tech upgrades in our whole office! I am so proud of him and his great work and positive attitude! The company makes it fun for the employees and also the wives by having competitions between the other offices in the company!! So far our Kentucky wives have won a hundred dollar shopping spree, which I am supper excited for! The techs won the first truckwars competition and won an apple system, x-box, sweater, hat, driver (golf club) and the CRUISE!!! That I am so so excited for! The worst part about his work is he works 6 days a week and summer holidays, the best part is he goes to work at 2 and only works 5 months full time and still makes more than I do.
Some of the fun things we have got to do and see so far...

Mothers day we spent the day in Louisville at the Slugger Museum, then went to a little hometown Mexican restaurant that was so delicious!
We got to go to the horse races at Church Hill Downs race track in  Louisville we even learned how to bet a little!

They had a Jr. Jockey place for kids to go do crafts and play with toys! It was super fun for them and relaxing for the parents!

It is like the movies! They were these fun fancy hats and head bands that are so cool! I am going to learn how to make them before I come back! They are very expensive but look so simple to make! It is a summer goal!

I got to take the boys to Shaker village with some of the other wives and their kids! The kids got to see some pretty cool birds, fish for free and play some old fashion games with the other kids!!

Kason was the first one to catch his fish. He was so excited but wouldn't touch it! He would hold the string as long as the fish wasn't moving.
Walker caught one when Kason caught his second fish, which we are pretty sure it was the same fish that he caught the first time and was still bleeding from where I pulled the hook out the first time round! That fish was suicidal for sure!
Some of the games they played were, pick up sticks, tug-a-war, sack races, 3 legged race, and stick and rings! The kids had so much fun and did really good!
After Shaker village we went on a boat ride on the Kentucky River! We got to learn a lot about the area, river fish and turtles! We seen lots of turtles in the water and on logs as well! They are so cute I want to bring one home!
This is called High Bridge of Kentucky and is actually a rail road that went across the river! It was huge and so so high.. therefore the name fit!
Kasons favorite part of the day!! YES he got to meet the captain who let him sit in his chair! He was so excited and told everyone about it! He told the captain, "Im going to be a captain when I grow up but I am going to sail a ship that's just like the Titanic" I was surprised it wasn't going to be a pirate ship!

We have also went hiking in caves, went to our first Major league baseball game, Cincinnati Reds vs Tigers. Before the game we got to do some sight seeing around Cincinnati. We went to a large park that had some fun things to see and beautiful sight seeing of the Ohio river, gardens and the city! We wanted to see a Cathedral so Tyler and Teasha found one they wanted to see that was built like the real one in Paris..(I think? lol) When we got there we thought we could just walk in and tour it like everyone else walking in! As we walked in we realized it was time for Mass and didn't dare just walk out! I may or may not have taken a few pictures while we were there! eventually Rixen was fussy and it was a good excuse to head out ha ha! Tyler was pretty sure they locked the doors after we left ;) The building was amazing though and the popes sure do dress to the max while the members just wore normal street clothes. It was really cool and something different!

Aside from all the fun things that we have got to see and do, we have also made some amazing new friends that have made the trip even better!! I love all the wives, they are very supportive of not only their husbands but each other! We have had lots of birthday or going away dinners for some of the girls and a baby shower for Teasha and Shay. We also watch the bachelorette every Tuesday night at Olivia's to keep our crazy girl life somewhat normal visiting and eating lots of junk food!! Us wives also have fun taking the kids out during the week or even just walking around the mall to get out of the house.
